Tom & Lauren | Autumn Photos on the Ice Age Trail
When I first met Lauren during my sophomore year of college in a volleyball coaching class, I never would have guessed that we would go on to be not only great friends, but sisters-in-law. Before taking the class together, I only knew Lauren as the very talented cross country runner, who also happened to live in my dorm. When she talked me into running on our university women's cross country team, it was the start of a lot of things, and not just my love of running.
During those long runs at XC practice, we got to know each other pretty well, and I am so grateful for her friendship! Not only do I have the best friend (and running buddy) I could ever ask for, but she was the one that suggested I apply for a weekend job at Shepherd's College to help pay my school bill. She also introduced me to my future husband (her brother), who worked there as well. But that's another story for another time...
When Tom mentioned that he needed some photos to brighten up his stark office space, and Lauren said she wanted to update some prints in their apartment, I was happy to oblige! Tom knew about a great location overlooking some Wisconsin Woods, so we all piled in the truck on a beautiful October day and climbed to the top of this beautiful bluff on the Ice Age Trail at sunset for a short photo session.
Tom and Lauren are not only family and our neighbors, but our friends. We've spent hours together playing games, cooking out, playing volleyball, riding bikes, watching football, drinking coffee, or just talking! We are so grateful for Godly friends and family that we can spend time with and build one another up. You'll see for yourselves that they are a beautiful couple, which makes my job as a photographer easy. They adore each other, and Tom knows just what to say or do to make Lauren laugh. We were also blessed with a perfect evening and glorious colors and light.
Thank you, Tom and Lauren, for asking me to take these photos for you. We love you both so much, and are very thankful that God has allowed us to live so close by! I am looking forward to see what the future holds for you two!
