Historic Milwaukee has always fascinated me with its gorgeous architecture and beautiful lakefront. It also holds a special place in my heart, since Eric proposed to me on a pebble beach along the lakefront... but that's another story for another time. Today's post is all about Brett and Mia's sweet private wedding ceremony in downtown Milwaukee.
Brett and Mia have really enjoyed their opportunity to live in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, so when they found out that Mia received a work promotion that would move them out east, they wanted to make sure that their wedding photos captured the essence of the home that they loved. Of course, I always enjoy taking wedding photos, but when there's an added "mission" involved, I love it even more!! Probably just the ultra competitive part of me coming out a little...
Because of their upcoming move, Brett and Mia decided to change their plans from a larger traditional wedding later in the year, to a small private ceremony at Pere Marquette Park in Milwaukee, with only their family in attendance. Brett's Dad even performed the wedding ceremony! (And he did an amazing job!!) After a sweet ceremony under a gazebo by the Milwaukee River, I got to steal away Brett and Mia for a while to take their wedding portraits in a few of their favorite places around the city. I felt like I was hanging out with a couple of old friends! These two were so much fun to be around, a dream to photograph, and they totally nailed their portraits.
To Brett and Mia, thank you so much to both of you for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your lives, and trusting me to document the story of your day. I truly enjoyed spending the evening with you both, and I hope that your wedding photos can be something that you treasure from your Milwaukee home for years to come! I hope you guys had an amazing time on your European Honeymoon!!
